This is an absolutely beautiful vintage Wilhelm Kage designed large Gustavsberg Argenta Sweden green with silver (actually it looks like gold or copper) overlay or (combination of) design of a mythical nude figure with birds as shown in the pictures taken with and without flash. The vase is in absolutely beautiful condition with the exception of a small area on the inner rim edge as shown which appears to be a manufacturing flaw (tiny nicks) as it is smooth to the touch and about slightly smaller than 1/2 inch long. Other than this, there are no other chips, cracks, hairlines or repairs but some minor dirt or water stains on the middle and lower bottom inner portion which may be able to be cleaned out. The glaze coloring and silver/gold or copper overlay design is just spectacular. The front of the vase shows a figure of a female mythological nude surrounded by birds and there are birds going all around the vase flying. This is probably one of the nicest and largest Argenta vases I have seen. The vase is marked on the bottom: Hand Drejad (handmade) Argenta 97? II Gustavsberg Anchor marking followed by KAGE. There are also some other symbols “U and a Delta.” This vase is large and heavy and thick walled and stands just shy of 7 and three-quarter inches tall by just over 6 and 1/2 inches at opening diameter. The more I look at the overlay design everywhere it appears to be copper or bronze or more of a gold coloring. This piece would make a fantastic addition to anyone’s collection. Please review all pictures carefully as they constitute part of the description.
